Responsibilities
To provide service to adults of all ages in the Cardiac Cath Lab and to adolescents, adults and older adults in Special Procedures. Services include assisting physicians during invasive, sterile procedures. Responds quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatments. Responsible for image management. Assists with maintenance of equipment and inventory. Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement. Assumes on call responsibility. Technologists must demonstrate an ability to function well under stressful or emergent situations
Qualifications
Four years clinical patient care experience required, if not graduate of Cardiovascular Invasive program. Previous cardiovascular lab experience preferred. A graduate of diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate academic program in health sciences required (includes, but not limited to cardiovascular technology, nursing, paramedic, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, or ultrasound.) Graduate of a Cardiovascular Invasive program preferred. Successful completion of Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Cardiac Interventional (CI) or Vascular Interventional (VI) exam required within two years of hire. ACLS required within six months of hire. Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision required. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within six months of hire. RCIS credential or ARRT advanced certification within two years of hire.
