McLaughlin Research Corporation has multipleimmediate openings for engineering technicians to provide support at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport.The incumbent will apply basic technical knowledge to perform routine tasks following detailed instructions. Tasking includes, but is not limited to the following: * Work as part of a team tasked to assemble, install and operate complex mechanical components in support of operational, performance and qualification testing. * Assemble or install equipment or parts requiring simple wiring, soldering, or connecting * Perform simple or routine mechanical tasks or tests such as tensile or hardness tests * Operate and adjust simple test equipment * Gather and maintain specified records of engineering data such as tests, drawings, etc. * Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. to shoulder or above shoulder height. Job Requirements * Minimum 2 years experience assembling, operating, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical systems * High degree of mechanical aptitude * Familiarity with mechanical assembly drawings and parts lists * Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office * High School Diploma or GED Applicant must be eligible for a security clearance up to and including Secret level.
