Job Overview:

 We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Clinical Data Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at the MedStar Health Vascular Institute. This role is essential for analyzing cardiovascular outcomes data, supporting quality improvement initiatives and partnering with multidisciplinary staff to implement evidence-based practices. 

Schedule: 

Full Time Days, 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 7:30a-4p

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Abstract clinical and administrative data from patient records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards; maintain knowledge of abstraction rules to ensure accurate and timely data entry into the repository; collaborate with medical teams for data validation, ensuring documentation is accurate and complete; screen medical records for complications related to mortality and morbidity; assist in data abstraction for quality control projects and design data collection strategies; identify trends for clinical performance improvement; prepare and present data to support performance improvement initiatives, generating and reviewing reports for accuracy; participate in quality improvement efforts, leveraging expertise in data abstraction and documentation; troubleshoot database software issues and collaborate with vendor technical staff as needed




 


Minimum Qualifications
Education

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, clinical research or another relevant field


Experience

    At least 2 years of cardiovascular anatomy and procedure-centric knowledge strongly preferred; 5-7 years of related experience, including quality or process improvement required; 5-7 years of experience in the healthcare field, particularly in a hospital and cardiovascular or cardiac surgery unit setting strongly preferred; 5 years of experience in facilitating clinical information systems and applications preferred; working knowledge of Cerner and Excel preferred


Licenses and Certifications

  • RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure Valid RN License in the State of Maryland required




This position has a hiring range of $87,318 - $157,289
