Loan Repayment Assistance Program up to $20,000 Lifetime:

The Respiratory Loan Repayment Assistance Program provides financial support to our Mercy Respiratory co-workers in a 24X7 hospital based eligible position who are in a .4 FTE and above, working 32 hours or more per pay period. The program offers monthly payments made directly to the loan servicer up to the amount of $370 per month and up to $20,000 for a lifetime maximum. 


Overview:

 

Under the supervision of the Cardiopulmonary Services Medical and Clinical Director, the RRT performs respiratory therapy assessment and procedures, develops the plan of care, documents treatments for patient with respiratory disorders according to state laws. Serves as clinical consultant to CRTT, nursing, ancillaries, etc. Responsible for CLIA, CAP regulations arterial blood gas. The RRT supports hospital and departmental activities such as program development, in-service training, process improvement, department meetings, interdisciplinary team meetings and quality assurance. Performs supervision of ancillary staff and students as related to patient care activities. Exhibits professional growth and development.


Qualifications:

 

Education: Graduate from an approved AMA Respiratory Program.

Licensure: Must hold current State Respiratory Care License in the applicable state of practice.

Certifications: Active Basic Life Support, Active Advanced Cardiac Life Support

Other: Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Respiratory Therapy Related Skills (Floor Therapy, Ventilator Care (Adult, Infant), ABGs, etc.

Additional Required Qualifications: Completes and maintains competency in Intubation and Bedside Bronchoscopy. RRT with a minimum of 1 year Adult ICU experience with Mercy AND completion and maintenance of ACCS credentialOR- RRT with minimum of 1 year Neonatal ICU experience with Mercy AND completion and maintenance of NPS credentialMust consistently rotate through Adult and/or Neonatal Intensive Care Areas AND/OR RRT with a minimum of 2 years Adult ICU experience with Mercy AND completion of ECMO competencies, Initial Education and signed Commitment agreementOR- Completion of the Asthma Educator Exam AE-C- Completion of the COPD Educator course

Preferred Certifications: NRP preferred.

Preferred Other: Additional languages preferred.
