Scope of Position:

Works under the direction of the Chief Engineer in the creation of descriptive drawings for product development, application, and manufacturing.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Creates accurate 3-D models from sketches or verbal instruction
    1. Proficient with 3-D modeling at the end of first 120 days of employment
    2. 100% drawing accuracy
    3. Must be able to perform at generally accepted drawing time standards.
  • Creates 2-D descriptive drawings to design department and industry standards
    1. Proficient with 3-D modeling at the end of first 120 days of employment
    2. 100% drawing accuracy
    3. Must be able to perform at generally accepted drawing time standards.
  • Gain general working knowledge of all relative products offered within the division.
    1. Basic product training through engineering manuals within first 60 days of employment.
  • Understanding of manufacturing capabilities and sheet metal tolerances and manufacturing limitations
    1. General understanding of manufacturing techniques and equipment within the first 120 days. Proficient at 1 year
  • Processes engineering change requests and engineering change notices
  1. Excellent understanding of E.C.R. procedures within 90 days of employment.
  • Performs other similar or related duties as required or requested

Position Requirements:

The Designer I must possess the minimum knowledge listed below:

  • One year minimum of CAD Certificate or technical trade school with a focus on CAD
  • Minimum one year design experience
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD
  • Ability to use computer software including Microsoft Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Formal training in a 3-D modeling software, AutoDesk preferred
  • HVAC experience a plus
  • Must be creative, flexible and innovative team player
