They have a fantastic opportunity to appoint a new Director of Development (Utility-scale) to spearhead the group's Development efforts and in time, expand a team of Developers across the US.Job DescriptionThe Director of Development (Utility-scale) will be responsible for:Providing support for a growing organization in a fast-paced environmentHire and manage a Development team to focus on projects across NY-ISO, MISO and PJMFocus on identifying and securing new solar and energy storage project development sites, negotiating land agreements, managing interconnection requests, and evaluating project viabilityThis role will also identify and evaluate project acquisitions and strategic partnering opportunitiesLead market analysis and site selection for greenfield developmentAcquire land leases for greenfield opportunities and maintain relationships with landowners for existing projectsManage environmental assessment campaigns and associated external consultantsManage discretionary permitting activities at all levels of governmentDirect resource management campaigns and energy production estimatesCollaborate with internal stakeholders and consultants to appropriately manage the electrical interconnection processDetermine the financial viability of projects together with the corporate finance departmentRepresent the company at regional industry association meetingsMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
