Description

The Lead Automation Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Collaborate with Global Research & Development (GRD), Project Engineering, Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and other core departments to initiate and sustain serial production.
  • Develop tooling and fixtures, including the associated validation processes.
  • Select equipment and infrastructure, along with conducting qualification procedures (Installation Qualification/Operation Qualification/Performance Qualification).
  • Create layouts for product lines or workcenters employing (semi) automated procedures.
  • Engage with motors, PLCs, HMIs, and other industrial technologies.
  • Maintain and enhance existing automated systems.
  • Implement operational and quality enhancements prior to, during, and post the commencement of serial production.
  • Deploy initiatives to reduce costs effectively.
  • Prepare Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).

Profile

The successful Lead Automation Engineer will have what follows:

  • Possess a Bachelor of Science degree in a Technical/Engineering field.
  • Demonstrate engineering expertise within medical device manufacturing or similarly regulated environments.
  • Contribute to equipment development enabling the automation of current manufacturing methods.
  • Apply project management techniques like A3 methodology and Gantt charts.
  • Coordinate with external integrators in a liaison capacity.
  • Identify, design, and validate equipment, tooling, and fixtures.
  • Develop and validate processes for automated assembly.
  • Conduct assessments and present proposals for Capital Expense Return on Investment (ROI).
  • Integrate collaborative robots (cobots) into existing manufacturing processes.
  • Develop PLC-based automated systems with intuitive HMIs.
