Position Title: Tax & Accounting Analyst 2

Description:
The accountant - tax & property prepares the income tax inputs for property associated items as it relates to tax return filings and income tax accounting as well as prepares financial accounting and analyses of the company's property construction and retirements. Responsibilities include development of accounting policies and procedures, providing general ledger support through the completion of journal entries, reconciliations and preparing supporting documentation. Calculates depreciation for book and tax accounting and provides input related to data requests, regulatory filings, reports and studies.

Responsibilities:
Prepares income tax inputs for property related items for income tax compliance and accounting. Duties includes the utilization of the PowerPlan system, which calculates tax depreciation and deferred taxes used in the company's provision, tax return and forecast.

Analyze capital project cost data related to construction projects in order to unitize costs to the Company property records. Perform analyses of the property records as needed to reporting and business unit needs. Maintain asset records to support regulatory, insurance and depreciation data requests.

Develop, implement and update the Company asset information system to meet both current reporting needs and future requirements. Provide the financial and operational areas with timely, accurate and meaningful information allowing them to better manage their areas of responsibility.

Compile and prepare information for regulatory filings and financial reporting.

Complete journal entries, reconciliations and supporting documentation. Maintain general ledger detail and complete monthly reconciliation of assigned activities.

Present results of research and analyses and provide recommendations in written and verbal presentation formats. Use personal computer based systems and software to compile and prepare reports.

Responsible for special projects and developing appropriate asset financial models as necessary.

Provide technical input to assist in development of capital project planning and forecasting.

Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.

Qualifications:
Bachelors' degree in accounting. MBA or CPA preferred.

Two or more years related accounting work experience.

Accounting/finance skills to apply accounting principles to the recording of financial data and preparation of reports.

Strong personal computer skills; proficiency in Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint; demonstrated ability to understand and utilize computer systems and applications as tools for analysis.

Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to develop and conduct presentations.

Leadership abilities, effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Effective project management skills; the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
