POSITION SUMMARY:The Legal Operations Coordinator position is a non-exempt position that provides administrative and document drafting support to MIMCO's legal team in all aspects of the acquisition, disposition and management of commercial retail properties. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Coordinate multiple legal projects at one time, such as real estate closings, litigation matters, bankruptcy filing matters. Ability to handle large projects start to finish such as identifying, evaluating and implementing a digital file management system, implementing or building an easily navigable and searchable document library.Assist with the selection and implementation of new, processes, efficiencies, and possibly software for the Legal Department.Perform various responsibilities of a paralegal including proofreading legal documents for accuracy and consistency, preparing correspondence and other documents for attorney review, drafting and managing various business entity documents, etc.Organize and maintain documents in a paper or electronic filing systemPrepare and maintain a weekly status report for all legal matters being worked internally and by outside counsel for use by other departments and MIMCO leadership.Assist with drafting and review of commercial leases. Act as a transaction coordinator as needed including reviewing title commitments and exception documents, preparing documents related to real estate matters such as leases and amendments, loan documents and standard construction contracts, preparing ancillary real estate transaction documents such as escrow instructions, deeds, easements and closing certificates and performing legal due diligence.Partner with other teams to ensure that real estate closings and projects proceed in a timely manner.Review and process new insurance claims and incident reports, organize and present claim review plans and resolve claims in a timely manner.Ensure all projects and contracts are set up in MIMCO systems timely and accurately.Abide by all company policies and procedures.Perform any and all other duties and responsibilities as directed and assigned by management.COMPENSATION AND BENEFITSPay: The position of Legal Project Manager is compensated on an hourly basis, at a rate determined by management of MIMCO, commensurate with candidate experience and qualifications.
