The ISB Infrastructure Engineer (Linux) is responsible for building, automating, supporting, managing, and optimizing Infrastructure Systems for respective Linux Systems. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Linux internals and be able to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues. They should also be skilled in deploying and managing Linux-based applications and services, focusing on security, performance, and reliability. • The Infrastructure Engineer (Linux) is tasked with building, automating, supporting, managing, and optimizing Linux-based systems.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current and emerging Linux technologies and advise the business on improvements.
• Design verification procedures to ensure the reliability and performance of newly installed or upgraded Linux systems.
• Research, guide, and implement best practices for Linux systems, leading these initiatives.
• Manage internal projects for new Linux implementations and system upgrades.
• Document processes and train Junior and Mid-level team members on Linux-based solutions.
• Mentor Junior and Mid-level team members, ensuring skill transfer for Linux systems.
• Provide reporting and serve as the final tier of support escalation for Linux-based Infrastructure Systems.
• Define high-level standards for Linux technologies and systems.
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all matters regarding Linux technologies supported by the team.
• Support in analyzing, troubleshooting, testing, and making recommendations for the Linux systems environment.
• Facilitate Incident Response and Problem Management for Linux systems, including root cause analysis for operational issues and system outages. Minimum Required Experience:
• 5+ Years' Experience Administering Linux Systems (preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux) in an Enterprise Datacenter environment. This includes comprehensive knowledge and experience with system configuration, management, and optimization. Preferred but Not Required:
• Ansible: Experience with Ansible for configuration management and automation.
• RHEL 8: Knowledge of and experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8, including its system administration and new features.
• Satellite: Experience with Red Hat Satellite for infrastructure management and provisioning.
• OpenShift: Understanding of or experience with OpenShift for container orchestration and management. Security Clearance Requirement:
