The Global Analytical laboratory performs a wide range of analytical analyses that supports Mondelez research and innovation.The Associate Scientist I role provides an excellent opportunity to apply fundamental physical science & material property understanding of ingredients, formulations, processes, and products to a wide range of food products. The position plans and executes experiments, delivers results, interpretation, and technical reports. This role focuses on routine and specialized analyses of products and method development and validations using physical analysis instruments and lab process equipment.How you will contribute• Provide high quality science by ensuring effective organization of assigned workload, integrity of analytical data generated and timely/accurate provision of results.• Provide Technical direction within own areas of expertise within the team. • Perform a range of experiments and analysis using physical analysis instruments: texture analyzer, rheometer, viscometer, and lab process equipment.• Proficient in the use of generic and specific software packages required for the role• Perform method development and prepare equipment and method verification/validation protocols where necessary.• Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of lab equipment.• Perform data checking and provide interpretation of results for routine and non-routine testing and generate interpretive reports• Work as part of an efficient global analytical team• Liaise with clients and line management to ensure effective communication of project proposals and results.• Participate in client and stakeholders meetings as required• Deliver internal presentations across groups and to technical stakeholders• Manage small projects or defined areas of larger projects and plan own workloadWhat you will bringA desire to drive your future and accelerate your career and the following experience and knowledge:Working on teams and independently with the guidance of a managerPrioritizing and managing activities independentlyUnderstanding of relevant product/process technologyIdentifying problems proactively and in creating and implementing solutions independentlyCommunicating effectively verbally and in writing, including writing technical reportsMore about this roleEducation / Certifications:BS in Chemical Engineering or ChemistryJob specific requirements:• Excellent understanding and operation of lab equipment• Scientific understanding and ability to independently conduct measurements and analysis in relevant area• Minimum 2 years' experience in a physical sciences laboratory environment and process engineering. • Ability to deliver projects/work within tight timescales • Strong organizational skills.• Strong safety ethicTravel requirements:NoneWork schedule:Onsite role based in East Hanover, NJNo Relocation support availableBusiness Unit SummaryThe United States is the largest market in the Mondelz International family with a significant employee and manufacturing footprint.
