The Role:

The Staff Accountant will play a pivotal role in managing the financial activities within the Family Office Services and supporting the outsourced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, a thorough understanding of QuickBooks, and a demonstrated ability to handle complex financial tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Family Office Services:

Bank Reconciliation: Accurately reconcile bank statements, ensuring proper categorization of all expenditures.
Credit Card Management: Download and systematically code credit card statements.
Brokerage Account Management: Post monthly brokerage account activities, summarizing total interest, dividends,
capital gains, and changes in the fair market value of assets.
Bill Payment: Manage bill payments, including posting automatic payments to QuickBooks and preparing bills for approval by the engagement partner (especially for amounts exceeding a predefined limit).
Investment Management: Process capital calls for various investments.
Insurance Management: Assist in the renewal of insurance policies, including homeowners and liability insurance.
Reporting: Prepare weekly and monthly reports on cash receipts and expenditures.
Financial Statements: Assist in preparing fair market value balance sheets.

Chief Financial Officer Services:

Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Reconcile all balance sheet accounts, including reviewing bank reconciliations, accounts
receivable, and prepaid account workpapers.
Inventory and Fixed Assets: Review inventory reports, update fixed asset records, and post depreciation.
Accounts Payable and Liabilities: Review accounts payable, update accrued liabilities, and reconcile accrued payroll.
Financial Reporting: Prepare comprehensive financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and CFO reports.
CFO Support: Assist with various CFO responsibilities, such as loan applications, insurance renewals, and other financial matters.



Key Skills:

Experience in income tax preparation is a plus.
Strong knowledge of QuickBooks is essential. Ability to import transactions into QuickBooks from various sources, including software, credit cards, and bank accounts.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounts payable/receivable principles.
Financial Management: Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
Strong ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Technical Skills like being competent in preparing checks, sending payments, and utilizing an electronic filing system for invoicing.
Credit Management Experience in entering credit memos for customers and reconciling credit card accounts, including batching from credit card websites.
Ability to post payroll entries, including all related expenses, liability accounts, and accrued payroll.
Extensive experience in preparing financial statements and reports.



Qualification & Other Requirements:

CPA Certification: CPA preferred.
Educational Background: A degree in Accounting or Business is a plus.
Experience: A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
