Position Description The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Lakehurst is the world leader in Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE) and Naval Aviation Support Equipment (SE). It is part of the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) and is located on Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (JB MDL) in central New Jersey. As the Navy's lead engineering support activity for ALRE and SE, NAWCAD Lakehurst conducts programs of acquisition management, technology development, systems integration, engineering, rapid prototyping / manufacturing, developmental evaluation and verification, fleet engineering support and integrated logistics support management. Logistics management encompasses logistic and maintenance planning from the concept development phases of the life cycle. The integration and management of maintenance/logistics support elements throughout the life cycle. The projection and adjustment of logistics requirements during the operational phases of the life cycle through to retirement. The planning and implementation status of modification programs and the management of various logistics programs during the life cycle. * In order to successfully support our ALRE, SE and other technical products, Logisticians ensure that our fleet has a sufficient supply of essential parts, training and documentation needed to maintain, repair and sustain Navy systems throughout the entire life cycle. * As a Logistics entry level employee you will be teamed up with one or more Logistics subject matter experts who will train you on multiple Logistics elements including Design Interface, Sustainment, Supply Support, Maintenance Planning, Packaging, Handling, Storage & Transportation (PHS&T), Technical Data, Support Equipment and Training & Support.
