NMC Healths Information Technology (IT) department is responsible for ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support the hospitals institutions, along with implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the mission of patient care. The Systems Engineer (SE) is a member of the NMCH IT Engineering team and is responsible for, as business needs dictate, managing and coordinating the efforts between users of IT applications, systems, and networks. The SEs key functional areas are Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), network printers/print servers, cyber security systems, data communications and telecommunications/VoIP systems. The SE accomplishes these goals/objectives by collaborating, planning, organizing, ensuring proper computer operation and managing/monitoring the performance of systems. There is a focus on optimizing end-user computing experiences and ensuring the performance and security of systems. This position reports to the Network Architect. This position is salaried, exempt.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and experience:

  • Level of Knowledge equivalent to that ordinarily acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree in computer information systems or computer science.
  • Experience requirements include three (3) to five (5) years active and progressive management experience in network and system setting.

  • Provide support to resolve system related incidents.
  • Create technical documentation and provide training on system best practices.

Desired:

  • Advanced troubleshooting and administration knowledge of PCs/Laptops/Thin Clients
  • Advanced troubleshooting and administration knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, preferably Windows 11 and newer MS Server Editions
  • Knowledge of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, preferably VMware Horizon View
  • Knowledge of Server virtualization technology, preferably VMware
  • Knowledge of Advanced AV/Malware Systems, preferably Cisco AMP/Umbrella
  • Familiarity with networking concepts, protocols and security principals. Meraki and/or Cisco Firepower is a plus
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation languages (i.e., PowerShell, Python) desired.

Licensure, registration, or certification:

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., VMware VCP, Citrix CCE-V, Microsoft Virtual Desktop) are advantageous.
