Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Systems Engineer OR Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position can be located in Palmdale, CA or El Segundo, CA or Rancho Bernardo, CA. Teleworking is not available as an option. **This position can be filled at either a Level 03 or Level 04 based on the selected individual's qualifications** The selected candidate will perform Reliability, Maintainability Availability (RMA) analyses. Candidate will perform RAM-C activities to influence designs; this requires the candidate to have a strong analytical background in engineering analysis. Candidate will support the following activities: Failure Review and Corrective Analysis Systems (FRACAS) reviews, Failure Review Board (FRB) activities, RAM-C requirement development, subcontractor data reviews for RMA products, development of RMA products for DOD customers, flight test activities and other Prognostics and Health Management (PHM) and/or Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) activities. They will be expected to work independently with occasional guidance. Job entails interfacing with Engineering and suppliers to assist in conducting complex trades' analysis for design versus performance and cost. Job includes performing of detailed quantitative and qualitative analytical analyses. It requires excellent communication and teamwork skills and the ability to quickly adapt and synthesize new information, processes, and data for tasks. Must have excellent skills with Microsoft Office and Outlook. Basic Qualifications for a Principal Systems Engineer: * Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field with 5 years of applicable experience; or a Master's Degree in a STEM field with 3 years of applicable experience; OR a PhD in a STEM field with 0 years of applicable experience. * Active Secret Clearance. * Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Program Access.
Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer: * Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field with 9 years of applicable experience; or a Master's Degree in a STEM field with 7 years of applicable experience; OR a PhD in a STEM field with 4 years of applicable experience. * Active Secret Clearance. * Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Program Access.
Preferred Qualifications: * Master's of Science or Doctorate degree in a STEM field * Knowledge and/or experience with current Navy and/or Air Force aviation maintenance concepts, standards, and processes. * Knowledge and/or experience with contracts/subcontracts/earned value and other business management statement of work. * 2 years academic or work experience in RMA/BIT/PHM Engineering * Active TS/SCI clearance * Current Special Program AccesSalary Range: $107,300 - $160,900
Salary Range 2: $133,000 - $199,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
