The Northrop Grumman Military Internship Program (NG-MIP) is an approved SkillBridge Program under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322. 29. The NG-MIP program is an opportunity for transitioning service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through an individual internship during their last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days. The Northrop Grumman Military Internship Program is open to all ranks and experience levels. SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from Northrop Grumman, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as Active-duty service members. Responsibilities for this internship position are: Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) has developed the Northrop Grumman - Military Internship Program (DoD SkillBridge) utilizing the DoDI guidance for Skillbridge. During this program the service member will be on-site at his or her host company performing an individual internship in an entry to mid-level career type role. The service member will be on the job training supporting a work schedule equivalent to 40hrs per week. Outlined below are the Goals, Objectives, and Outcomes for the program. Goals - Provide transitioning service members fellowship-style job skills training during the last portion(s) of their military commitment. This program is specifically designed to offer internships that result in the potential to transition to a full-time opportunity as the conclusion of the training. Interns will serve as a pipeline for high-speed, motivated military candidates into NGC. Objectives - Service Members who complete the Intern program will be highly trained, capable, future employees that align to the specific needs of the organization and are prepared to meet the NG mission Defining Possible on Day 1. This program provides a comprehensive internship experience including professional development, networking with leadership, and training specifically focused on NG leadership principles, company history, customer/stakeholder engagement, product and service overview, and core job responsibilities. Northrop Grumman's Defense Systems sector is currently seeking an Associate Supply Chain Planning Specialist (Level 1) to support on-site at our Rocket Center, West Virginia location. Rocket Center, WV is located along the North Branch Potomac River in Mineral County, West Virginia and is home to the Allegany Ballistics Laboratory (ABL), a government installation operated by Northrop Grumman. Learn more about our site here: The Supply Chain Planning Specialist will have complete program responsibility and authority to manage all program subcontracts, materials and services. The successful candidate will manage the definition of program outsourcing requirements and will lead the integrated program team (IPT) and direct functional organizations to achieve material-related program objectives (cost, schedule, quality), while managing and communicating material risks and opportunities. Job Duties: * Help define and develop material strategy * Participate in make/buy process, capacity planning, and resource planning; product phase-in/phase-out, manufacturing ramp-up, product end-of-life management * Analyze purchase material supply/demand position using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools * Understand inventory levels based on dependent and independent Bill-of-Materials (BOM) requirements * Receive and review requirements for non-standard parts. Analyzes lead times and identifies critical path procurements * Act as one the Program facing liaisons for the Global Supply chain team * Competitive and non-competitive sourcing approaches, requests for quotes * Solicitation bid packages strategies, targeting optimized pricing through volume * Source selections in a competitive environment & participate in proposal activities * Understand and evaluate multiple supplier proposals to place compliant purchase orders * Extract, monitor, analyze and validate data and information from multiple sources * Develop engaging and collaborative relationships with suppliers and internal partners / customers to drive problem resolution * Help GSC management understand and explain material forecasts * Participate in Agile environment teams to drive Change Request updates to TDP * Candidates must be able to make sound and independent decisions in a timely manner, display strong interpersonal skills, and have an agile perspective of compliance protocol mandated by regulated industry, including Aerospace and Defense
Basic Qualifications for Associate Supply Chain Planning Specialist (Level 1): * This role places a strong emphasis on skills and experience. We will consider candidates who meet one of the following criteria: a high school diploma or GED with a minimum of 4 years' experience in supply chain, planning, or a closely related field; a bachelor's degree with at least 0 years' experience in supply chain, planning, or a closely related field; or a master's degree with 0 year of experience in supply chain, planning, or a closely related field * Experience with Costpoint or similar ERP system * MS Office including Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint * Must be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD Secret Security Clearance * Meets DoD SkillBridge qualifications as per DODI 1322.29
Preferred Qualifications: * Supply chain experience for an aerospace and/or defense company * Familiarity with government contracting requirements and compliance * Ability to discern and analyze data to formulate and execute effective negotiation strategies * Demonstrated experience in the analysis and negotiation of contractual terms and conditions * Knowledge of FAR/DFARSalary Range: $51,400 - $77,200
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
