Description:Purpose Statement:Northstar Behavioral Health Network is a team of professionals that specialize in serving thosebattling substance use disorders, specifically Opioid Use Disorder and Stimulant Use Disorder.Also specializing in those needing Intensive Residential Treatment Services.Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Essential Functions)? Participate in reviewing the comprehensive assessment prior to service initiation? Develop, maintain, and periodically update written policies and procedures that governthe day-to-day functions of the Nursing Department.? Comprehensive understanding of all MN Statutes related to providing services for thepopulation NBHN serves? Management of Mantoux compliance? Responsible for nursing department compliance? Work with Provider on development and implementation of Standing Orders? Work with Provider and NPS Nurses to ensure delivery of provider ordered services? Responsible for QI implementation? Manage relationships with outside resources and identification of potential providersincluding but not limited to outside MAT services, Psychiatric services, and other healthrelated services? Participate in strategic planning and policy updates? Attend and participate in regularly scheduled staffing meetings? Evaluate and implement recommendations from management staff in otherdepartments as they may pertain to nursing services? Recommend the number and level of nursing personnel to be employed? Collaborate with the HR Department in the recruitment of nursing service personnelThis description covers the primary purpose and principal duties of the job. Develop, Maintain, and periodically update the written procedure for ensuring thatprofessional nursing personnel have valid and current licenses.? Participate in new employee orientation? Review complaints and grievances made or filed by department personnel.? Provide direct nursing care as necessary? Assist with the development and implementation of safety standards for the MedicalServices Department? Monitor nursing service personnel to assure that they are following established safetyregulations in the use of equipment and supplies? Development and implementation of a program for monitoring communicable and/orinfectious disease among clients and personnel? Development and implementation of a procedure for reporting hazardous conditions orequipment? Development and implementation of a procedure for the destruction of medications? Development and implementation of a procedure for the safe operation of all medicalequipment? Oversight of nursing personnel to set up continuing care plans for client discharges,including but not limited to: on-going psych appointments, medical appointments,dental appointments, MAT follow ups.? Assure that all qualified Behavioral Health Technicians and other staff, deemednecessary, are adequately trained to provide medications, through Northstar BehavioralHealth Medication Administration Training.? Assure that all staff have a current CPR and First Aid Certificate. Conduct CPR/First Aidtraining as needed.? Participate in inspections made by DHS.? Other duties as assignedRequirements:? Must be licensed by the State of Minnesota as a Registered Nurse? Must pass a State of Minnesota Background Check? CPR Certification or attain within 30 days?
