Job Description:

Summary:
Administers roentgen rays and radioactive substances to patients. Operates X-Ray Equipment, prepares patient's room, equipment, supplies and medications. Provides patient services using imaging modalities.

The radiologic technologist correlates and integrates radiologic aspects of care for all patients age ranging from neonate to geriatrics. Follows prescribed techniques in administering general and specific x-rays. (adjust equipment; determines proper voltage, current, and desired exposure time distance; arranges immobilization and support devices to obtain position of patients; adjust lead shields; and selects proper film). Operates mobile x-ray equipment when requested. The care provided to each patient is specific to the patient's particular physical, age specific and psychosocial needs. The patient populations served by this position includes neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric.

Interacts with radiology management system and participates in other clerical activities to ensure smooth work flow and provide documentation for the patient charge.

Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements:
Associate of Science degree in Radiology Technology and/or a graduate of Radiologic Technology Program recognized by The American College of Radiology. Must be registered by ARRT. Experience beyond technology training not required, however two years of experience is preferred.
