Novant Health Radiation Oncology Department is seeking a Radiation Therapist II.
Applies ionizing radiation to the patient in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist. In addition to the duties of the Radiation Therapist I: Serves as a Super User for technology, Preceptor for new employees, providing training and mentorship, performs both CT and treatment procedures with a high level of proficiency, Involved in HDR QA or specialized treatment protocols, Demonstrates expertise in VisionRT, Simulation/IV Contrast, and new treatment devices or protocols, engages in at least 1 presentation/proposal to radiation leadership/physicians annually on cost savings, patient safety, or efficiency, ensuring that their ideas are heard and implemented, leads by example, promoting employee satisfaction through active involvement in process improvements.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
- Experience: 3 years of experience as a radiation therapist, including expertise in CT procedures, HDR QA, or other relevant specialized treatment protocols, required
- Licensure/Certification: ARRT in Radiation Oncology, required.
- Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
- Oversee daily operations of the radiation oncology department, including treatment delivery, simulation, and patient flow
- Ensure safe, high-quality care in alignment with clinical standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices
- Monitor patient volumes, throughput, and scheduling efficiency
