REMOTE APPLICATIONS ARCHITECT -- SECRET CLEARANCE REQUIRED (REMO WITH SECURITY CLEARANCE

Occam Solutions is hiring for an Architect to support a project for a client in Washington, DC. This position is remote with meetings onsite as needed. A secret clearance is required for this role. The Architect will lead system architecture, interfaces, design patterns; Analysis and recommendation of alternative approaches and tools; Interface with GPOCs on architecture decisions and plan; Oversight on interface specs, standards, and quality of deliverables, identification and mitigation of technical risks, and will be responsible for mentoring developers and testers. Experience needed: * AWS experience. * Experience architecting containerized microservices. * System architecture. * Identification and mitigation of technical risks experience needed. * Experience mentoring teams, such as developers and testers. * Proficient in at least one major programming language (e.g. Java, Python, C/C++) and related tech stacks (e.g. LAMP, MERN, etc.) * Familiar with modern software architecture and design patterns. * In-depth knowledge of inter-process and inter-application communication and integration (such as through messaging and RPC) * Experience designing, developing, testing, and/or fielding mission-critical or safety-critical systems for DoD or other public-sector organizations a strong plus - such systems may include but not limited to command and control, weapon systems, or aerospace systems. * Experience with tactical communications and networking a plus. Education requirements: * A master's degree in a specialized field plus a minimum of 5 year of applicable experience; or a bachelor's degree in the specialized field plus 10 years of applicable experience; or, a bachelor's degree in any field with a minimum of 15 years of specialized experience.
