Experienced Dental Office Manager - Alexandria, VA!
We’re an upscale, privately owned, fee-for-service dental office that has been thriving for 30 years in Old Town, Alexandria, doing comprehensive dentistry. We’re looking for a Captain to steer our ship! Schedule: Full-Time
- Monday - Thursday (6:30am - 4:30pm), with select half-day Fridays (7am - 1pm)
Compensation:
- $65,000 - $75,000 (salary, not hourly), commensurate with experience, skill level, and unique expertise

What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead and motivate the team while maintaining a positive, accountable office culture
- Own the patient experience from first phone call to checkout
- Work alongside and supervise front desk associates, and hold team members accountable to KPIs and schedule management
- Manage and optimize the schedule to meet and exceed production goals
- Reconcile practice financials, accounts receivable, and manage office budget
- Oversee all steps of out-of-network insurance claim filing
- Gather, evaluate, and report monthly metrics to Practice Owner and Director of Operations
- Support marketing initiatives and new patient growth protocols
- Maintain HIPAA, OSHA, and BLS compliance for the office and all team members
- Actively participate in weekly business meetings with Practice Owner
What We’re Looking For:
Required
- Previous experience successfully leading a dental practice, corporate or private
- Dentrix proficiency; comfortable managing additional software and technology platforms
- Extensive dental knowledge including fluency in dental terminology and the ability to answer basic clinical questions confidently
- Strong out-of-network insurance background — patient reimbursement guidance, pre-authorizations, and OON billing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills — patient-facing and internal
- Strong grasp of practice financials, KPIs, and Dentrix reporting
- Sound judgment and decisive problem-solving, with the ability to act confidently on behalf of the practice without always escalating
- Meticulous attention to detail, strong time management, unwavering commitment to punctuality
- Stable employment history with strong references required
Strongly Preferred
- Specialized skills in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new team members
- Ability to guide, train, and motivate team members while delivering constructive feedback and reinforcing company culture
