SHIFT
ORE - Shift 1 ($0) (United States of America - Oregon)A BRIEF OVERVIEW
As the CNC Machinist, Tooling you will work alongside experienced toolmaker(s) and play a critical role in the creation and enhancement of tools drive our manufacturing processes forward. Additionally, you will undergo comprehensive training to learn the trade of a toolmaker.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Utilize models and drawings to support modular tooling concepts
Analyze customer blueprints to assess the impact on tooling and fixturing
Execute various die making tasks including, machining, polishing, assembly, inspection and cleaning
Interface with vendors, communicating tooling requirements through CAD models and drawings and reviewing quotations.
Collaborate with the Wax Department Supervisor to monitor tool performance and ensure optimal functionality
Initiate purchase orders to request supplies and coordinate work with suppliers
Engage in collaborative brainstorming sessions to generate cost-saving ideas with team members
Partner with the CMM Programmer and dimensional inspectors to inspect dies and fixtures
Skillfully perform layout, rework and reverse engineer tooling based on sample parts or models
Rework legacy tooling for straightening reduction
Manage tool repair and tool cleaning process to maintain operational excellence
Develop cooling bars and maintain CB inventory
Define and adhere to PM schedule for equipment, ensuring timely completion of maintenance work orders.
Regularly update and refine the Tooling manual to ensure best practices are in place
Provide management with comprehensive reports on tooling status, project proposals and project plans
Conduct set up of 3 & 4 Axis CNC machines and operate multiple machines concurrently
Oversee machine operations to verify optimal program performance
Execute shop work orders, inspection documentation, and daily maintenance sheets
Implements offsets and adjustments to machines with minimal supervision
Advocates for the health and safety of self, co-workers, customers, and the community.
Support quality and compliance by adhering to all procedures, work instructions, and forms per the Quality Management Systems (QMS).
Completes all required training.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
High School Or Equivalent (Preferred)
EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
Lean Manufacturing Experience (Preferred)
Experience in Medical Device Manufacturing (Preferred)
2+ Years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment (Required)
Experience utilizing Mastercam software (Preferred)
