JOB OVERVIEWJob Title: SAMPLE LAB TECHNICIANDate Revised: APRIL2024Job Location: WINDSOR, CTDivision/Department: RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENTWeekly Hours: 40 HOURS/WEEK ON-SITEReports to: R&D MANAGERPOSITION DETAILSJOB PURPOSEThe Sample Lab Technician compounds and prepares finished flavor samples to drive new flavor business and maintain existing customer relationships. This position requires a high level of detail, efficiency, and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEnsure precise weighing and safe handling of flavor materials.Compound finished flavors accurately to meet customer requirements.Calibrate lab equipment to maintain accuracy.Maintain accurate documentation files and records of samples sent to customers.Enter and maintain compounding records through the appropriate systems.Accurately adjust inventory of Flavor Library flavors and Production flavor stock via the approved methods. Communicate and work with other internal departments to complete tasks and fulfill customer requests. Develop and maintain relationships with R&D, Applications, QC, and Manufacturing teams.Prioritize numerous and various assignments in a fast-paced environment.Maintain Sample Lab stock.Understand and adhere to Company Certified programs such as HACCP, SQF, Food Defense, and Food Safety and Food Quality programs as required.Sustain a positive attitude with both internal and external customers.Perform other duties as assigned by Management.WORKING CONDITIONSLaboratory and production setting in a food flavor chemical manufacturing facility.SUPERVISION RECEIVEDDirect report to Research and Development Manager.SUPERVISION EXERCISEDN/ADIRECT REPORTSN/AQUALIFICATIONSMINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSExperience in a laboratory environment.PREFERRED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSExperience in the food/flavor or chemical industry.MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSHigh school diploma or equivalent.PREFERRED EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSAs above.REQUIRED SKILLSGood math skills.Detail-oriented record-keeping.Understands and adheres to lab safety protocols.Computer proficiency Microsoft Suite, Sage ERP systems.Adept with, and knowledgeable of various types of laboratory instrumentation.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Problem solver committed to improving processes.Adaptable, responsible team player.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.Ability to withstand various odors and smells.Lifting up to 55 lbs. may occasionally be required._________________________________________Important Note.
