Position Title: Tax Manager

Salary: $110,000 - $135,000 per year

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Job Description:

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: PeopleShare is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Manager to join our growing Finance and Accounting Team for an International Food Corporation in New Jersey. This role will lead an effort to build and implement operating tax principles and develop a tax function in-house. In this fast-paced, growing environment, we are looking for an individual to come in and make a big impact on the finance organization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serve as the main point of contact and subject matter expert for all tax-related items.
  • Lead the effort of insourcing federal and state compliance filings, while coordinating the review process with an outside firm.
  • Calculate and make quarterly estimated tax payments, as required.
  • Prepare tax account journal entries and reconciliations and work with the Corporate Controller to ensure US GAAP compliance.
  • Handle quarterly state sales tax filings and evaluate and potentially insource quarterly and annual payroll tax filings.
  • Handle county/local property tax filings at various locations and other local registrations as required.
  • Pursue tax credits such as for investments, R&D, or related to Covid-19 in the jurisdictions in which we operate.
  • Stay up-to-date on tax matters at the federal, state, and local levels and weigh in on the tax impact of various business decisions we are contemplating.
  • Perform detailed Nexus Analysis, audit support as required, and research and consult on technical matters and special projects.
  • Liaise with our Australian global tax office and assist with other nontax-related accounting duties as time permits.
Job Requirements:
  • BA or BS degree is required; Masters in Tax is preferred.
  • CPA License Required.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting.
  • Big 4 experience is preferred (Deloitte, PwC, Ernst & Young, and KPMG).
  • Strong understanding of accounting concepts, US GAAP, and applications.
  • Strong technical tax knowledge, research capabilities, analytical and qualitative skills, including the ability to conceptualize and think creatively.
  • Track record of success in delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Be a team player with a positive and proactive attitude.
