ACCOUNTANT

PeopleShare is hiring an Accountant for a manufacturing client in Virginia Beach! This role will support finance and accounting by assisting both the Controller and the Finance Manager.

Accountant Job Description:

• Perform daily entry of cash receipts into ERP system and work with Sales Managers to manage the accounts receivable aging
• Prepare monthly sales commissions calculation spreadsheet
• Assist with monthly bank reconciliation
• Assist with month/quarter/year end close by performing journal entries and reconciliations (including Received Goods Not Invoiced)
• Assist with inventory in-transit transactions/tasks
• Assist with project to refresh our customer sales tax exemption certificate matrix
• Serve as a backup to the Accounts Payable Assistant
• Create and/or maintain manuals for all AP/AR tasks.
• Assist with the company's annual business registration process for multiple states
• Cooperate with colleagues on the finance/accounting team and interact effectively with other employees
• Other related business administrative tasks (filing, shredding, etc.)

Accountant Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field is required
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access knowledge a plus
• Proficient knowledge of GAAP and related financial reporting regulations and standards
• Self-starter with a strong attention to detail
