Job Overview:

Senior Solution Architect with a focus on Card Payments and Merchant Services onboarding and KYC / AML expertise.

The ideal candidate will design complex, large scale / enterprise-wide systems and integrations using best practices and patterns and guide the development and implementation of digital systems that support the onboarding and KYC for Card Payment Processing and Merchant Services.

This role is at the forefront of our strategic initiatives, working directly with customers to shape programs that drive innovation and growth.  The Architect is responsible for creating a vision, strategy and governance model for the development across the enterprise. They will establish guiding principles, roadmaps, standards, patterns, and adaptable governance to deliver the strategy and drive the realization of business outcomes.  The candidates’ primary responsibility will be to provide Enterprise Architecture best practices, analysis and design, proven integration patterns and market research in support of our complex Enterprise Customers.  This person should be comfortable working in a challenging and fast-paced environment as well as working with senior leaders including C-Level in identifying technology trends and disruptors and then developing strategic plans.

  • Provide architectural solutions/designs to product and developer teams for implementation.
  • Provide technology architectural assessments, strategies, and roadmaps for one or more technology domains.
  • Collaborate with application developers, users, operational leadership, and subject matter experts to understand current and future operational data analysis goals. Recommend modern technology stacks to meet those goals and help engineering teams migrate towards their use.
  • Collaborate with the customer's product, operations, and technology leadership on the future analytic goals of the organization and design a technical architecture to meet those goals. Lead the architecture configuration and advise engineering teams on its efficient use.
  • Help provide alternative solutions and guide product teams to an optimal fit from both an engineering effort and timely delivery to market.
  • Act our core Technical Team member leading the design and development of software applications, ensuring they meet both functional and user experience requirements.
  • Lead the technical planning & requirements gathering phases including estimate, architect, development and delivery.
  • Oversee code quality and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Guide an engineering team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
  • Utilize analytical, process, and/or technical skills to meet project objectives and deliverables that are self-directed and within project scope.
  • Ensure team deliverables are of the highest quality to promote client satisfaction
  • Managing relationships, coalitions and communications with senior and executive level business and technology leaders to influence desired outcomes without direct authority
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven track record of technical leadership roles delivering solutions within defined timeframes.
  • Experience working as an enterprise, solutions architect and developing solution implementation frameworks is a plus.
  • Knowledge of a modern, cloud-based enterprise architecture best practices and patterns
  • Proven expertise of managing and leading cross-functional matrixed teams. Ability to coach resources to elevate performance and drive results.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in enterprise architecture, software development, or a combination of both.
  • 3+ years Payment’s processing experience in Card Payments and/or Merchant Services
  • 1-2 Years of functional and technical experience with Merchant onboarding
  • Functional and technical knowledge of Card Payments KYC, AML, and Data Protection standards, including but not limited to: PIC Standards, ISO8583, PSD2 / PSD3, AMLD, GDPR, etc.
  • 3+ years of experience with modern web frameworks such as React and/or Angular.
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud based serverless concepts and services running in AWS and/or Azure.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing complex software solutions and Proficiency in relevant architecture modeling tools (e.g., UML, ArchiMate)
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages such as Java, C# and Python is a plus
  • Enterprise-level experience in composable/headless enterprise architectures and micro-services environments
  • Strong understanding of security best practices and data governance principles.
  • Ability to think strategically and translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Good understanding of SRE ( Site Reliability Engineering)
  • Familiarity with cloud-based big data platforms such as Snowflake, CosmosDB, and/or Azure Fabric would be considered a plus.
  • Familiarity with enterprise development tools such as Azure Dev Ops and Jira.
  • Experience in defining new architectures and ability to drive an independent project from an architectural stand point.
  • Experience with authoring, editing and presenting technical documents.
  • Knowledge and experience in developing software using agile methodologies.
  • Experience managing relationships, coalitions and communications with senior and executive level business and technology leaders to influence desired outcomes without direct authority
  • Ability to understand how to navigate a complex organization, understand the big picture, and influence the enterprise to leverage technology in alignment with our strategies.

Preferred Skills and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.

The salary range for this position takes into consideration a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, level of experience, applicable office location, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The new hire salary range displays the minimum and maximum salary targets for this position across all US locations, and the range has not been adjusted for any specific state differentials. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the unique facts and circumstances regarding each candidate. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $92,118  to $202,730.
