Wastewater Engineer Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesLeading and overseeing water/wastewater engineering design Providing design criteria for external engineering firms and review designs for accuracy and complianceApplying innovative treatment processes to remove pollutants from water and wastewater, including emerging contaminantsDeveloping feasibility study, basis of design, and performance monitoring reportsDeveloping engineer's construction cost estimates for treatment systemsSupporting permitting efforts with local, regional, and federal permitting agenciesDeveloping construction documents, including design drawings, specifications, bid forms, and startup plansConducting or overseeing field investigations and construction support servicesManaging multi-disciplinary project teams, including internal and external stakeholdersInteracting with client representatives and regulatory agenciesEducationBachelor's degree in chemical, environmental, or civil engineering, with emphasis on water or wastewater treatment or closely related discipline. PE preferred but not requiredSkills, Experience and QualificationsAt least 5 years (7+ preferred) of direct environmental engineering experienceExperience leading and/or support water/wastewater treatment design projects Experience with biological treatment system designExperience with multi-disciplinary project teamsProven leadership skillsAbility to succeed in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to facilities as neededExperience working on a variety project types and in a variety of roles (e.g., project engineer and project manager) within an industrial water/wastewater environmentExperience in the design of systems to handle high strength nutrient loads in an industrial environmentEOE/Vet/Disabled
