In this role, you will lead planning, development, deployment, and sustainment of a set of consumer-facing features, ensuring they meet the highest standards of user experience, security, and performance. You will partner with other technical leaders to plan and implement shared goals under larger initiatives and contribute to Stanley's eCommerce strategy in a meaningful way.Stanley is an amazing place to work. Create an environment that allows the team to ship high-quality software that meets business needs.Serve as a technical mentor for your team, guiding team members on decisions around processes, tooling, and systems.Own communication across the product development team and company regarding key milestones, providing frequent, transparent updates on progress toward goals.Who You AreYou have a technical background as a successful engineer with a track record of end-to-end software development of large systems. Ideally, you have done this in a Ruby on Rails environment.You have led high-functioning teams and sustained a culture of collaboration and delivering high-quality results.You have led teams through change and ambiguity, maintaining a focus on quality while adapting to the changing demands of a growing company.You enjoy and embrace coaching and mentoring engineers, with prior experience hiring, developing talent, and giving feedback.You have experience in experimentation and A/B testing to build robust and consumer-friendly eCommerce systems.Education and Experience5+ years of software engineering experience with proven expertise in:Designing architecting data persistence solutions (e.g. CMS, SQL, Shopify taxonomy extensions, browser storage).Declarative web frameworks such as React and Next.js.CI/CD system integrations.HTML/CSS/JavaScript interoperability.eCommerce experience, including:
Developing for commercially available eCommerce sites.Shipping products and features that require integration with multiple systems.Experience making decisions based on the capabilities and limitations of your technology environment.Knowledge of, and passion for, delivering eCommerce experiences that surprise and delight end consumers.Experience working with Shopify is a plus.1+ years of experience managing software engineers, providing them technical guidance, change support, and career development.Proven track record to break down challenging problems into potential solutions, knowns, and unknowns, advancing projects and conversations with different stakeholders.Stanley is committed to a diverse and inclusive work environment. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on multiple factors, such as work location, job-related knowledge, skills, qualifications, and experience.
