This is an outstanding opportunity to lead our softgoods development team, drive innovation, and contribute to our ambitious growth plans!This position is a hybrid role based in our Seattle, WA offices.Key Responsibilities:Ensure the functional integrity of Stanley products and designs are translated into robust and scalable manufacturing solutions that consistently exceed customer product performance expectations.Own the hiring, onboarding, training, mentoring, and driving of performance within the softgoods development team.Work closely with all development and engineering teams to promote technical cohesion and establish effective approaches.Partner with project management to build, modify, and track schedules, ensuring projects stay on track.Incorporate the latest technologies in CMF, materials, concept functionality, and manufacturing processes into our product creation.Collaborate with product management partners to translate consumer requirements into compelling products.Partner with Industrial Design to conceptualize new insights and detail out the design incorporating robust construction.Partner with production development team and vendors to ensure efficient and consistent product manufacturability.Ensure compliance with regulatory and performance requirements through collaboration with the test team.Facilitate quality assurance throughout the product creation process.Maintain oversight of project financial targets related to COGs and Capital.Ensure products are accurately documented and undergo vital updates.Work with legal counsel to ensure freedom to operate and commercialize patentable product offerings.Address technical issues on projects that require immediate attention throughout the product creation process.Work with leadership in the development of strategies, objectives, and business goals.Drive continuous process improvement across the product creation teams.Education and Experience Requirements:Bachelor's or Associate’s degree in a related field, with priority to technical product development.7+ years of experience as a practicing developer of softgoods or durable consumer products.7+ years of experience in a leadership position with direct reports or leading diverse teams.Extensive leadership experience building teams that consistently demonstrate strong performance.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes and associated product design requirements.Experience working with production developers and vendors, particularly in Asian factories.Deep understanding of project and product financial requirements, including COGs targets, capital budget, and return on investment.Qualification process knowledge in best practices such as PPAP, validation/verification through DFMEA/Test Plan/PFMEA/Control Plan preferred.Competence in suite of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Competence in Adobe Illustrator (Solidworks CAD is a plus)Prior PLM experience desiredTravel 20%, contingent on travel restrictionsSalary Range:$140,000-$165,000#LI-HybridStanley is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
