JOB DESCRIPTION: Manufacturing Planning and Procurement Manager

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Manufacturing Planning and Procurement Manager to oversee production planning, materials planning, procurement, and inventory management within our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and leadership abilities to optimize production efficiency, ensure on-time delivery, and manage inventory levels effectively. This role is crucial in maintaining seamless operations and meeting customer demands in a dynamic manufacturing environment.



Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and implement comprehensive manufacturing planning strategies to ensure production schedules are met efficiently and cost-effectively.

  • Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Finance teams to establish production schedules based on customer orders, forecasted demand, and available capacity and communicate schedules with customers as necessary.

  • Manage materials planning and procurement activities to ensure timely availability of raw materials, components, supplies, equipment, and services while optimizing inventory levels.

  • Evaluate supplier capabilities, support contract negotiation, and maintain strong vendor relationships to secure competitive pricing, terms, and quality standards.

  • Implement inventory control measures to minimize excess stock, reduce lead times, improve inventory turnover rates, and ensure accuracy of inventory management systems.

  • Strategically mature the organizational effectiveness of ERP, MRP, and MES systems to drive improvements in task automation and data integrity for inventory and production systems.

  • Oversee material storage, handling, and distribution processes to maintain organizational standards for safety, cleanliness, environmental hygiene, and efficiency.

  • Collaborate with Quality and Engineering teams to ensure materials and components meet specifications and quality standards and systems are updated as changes occur (e.g. BOM).

  • Analyze production and procurement data to identify trends, forecast future demand, and make informed decisions to optimize supply chain efficiency.

  • Lead and mentor planning, material control, and procurement professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards related to manufacturing, procurement, and inventory management.

  • Engage with CPP Corporate to identify both areas of synergy and areas where Poly6 can add value to CPP in thought leadership, excellence & innovation

  • Jointly oversee an annual Operations budget






QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • B.S. in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field and 5+ years’ experience in Manufacturing/Supply Chain; or 10+ years’ experience Manufacturing/Supply Chain.

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001.

  • Knowledge of inventory and production control methodologies.

  • Strong command of Microsoft Office tools (particularly Excel) and ERP software.

  • Experience identifying new suppliers, evaluating capabilities, and onboarding to production.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of driving process improvements and implementing corrective actions.

  • Effective interpersonal, communication, planning, problem solving, and organizational skills.

  • Continuous improvement mindset with knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.

  • Self-motivated and experienced in dealing with ambiguity while performing critical project steps. 

  • Must be a hands-on team member capable and willing to perform all planning and procurement related functions.

  • Strong management & people leadership experience, with ability to communicate across various disciplines.




PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

 

  • 7+ years working in a technical manufacturing environment, preferably with Aerospace/AS9100 experience.

  • Experience with chemical manufacturing and/or procurement, materials processing, and/or additive manufacturing.

  • Experience with Oracle ERP or Oracle Cloud software.

  • Knowledge of procurement activities, including RFQ, purchasing requisitions (PR), purchase orders (PO), sales orders (SO), accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), RMA, etc.
