PotomacWave is looking for an Oracle Business Intelligence Consultant to join our team supporting our Federal Client’s Financial Data Warehouse. This position is 100% remote but may entail occasional trips to the client’s HQ location in Springfield, VA, which is metro accessible. A successful candidate will have experience working in an Oracle Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse environment (preferably Financial based), experience working with an ETL tool such as ODI or Informatica and experience developing reports with a tool such as OBIEE/OAS, Business Objects or Cognos. The candidate must also be a proficient Technical Writer with the ability to create/maintain developer job aids, checklists, and training materials. The candidate must also possess excellent communication skills and work directly with end-users to extrapolate requirements and translate them into simplified design criteria. Required Skills: *Experience with ODI 11g and/or 12c and OAS/OBIEE including reports design, development, configuration, troubleshooting and implementation.
*Strong technical writing skills documenting requirements, standard operating procedures, job aids, checklists, templates, and training materials.
*Experience with end-user support, preferably with a ticketing system such as Service Now (SNOW) and monitoring an email Support Box, which sometimes entails end-user interactions.
*Ability to advise the client on matters relating to the design and function of the Business Intelligence (BI) environment including reports, dashboards, data elements and adhoc querying.
*Ability to work on multiple tasks on an ongoing basis.
*Ability to work within the construct of a team environment. Optional Skills:
*Experience with WebLogic user account maintenance in a SAML 2.0/OKTA environment.
*Experience with maintaining OAS RPD metadata structures and reports optimization.
*Experience with implementation of Oracle Business Intelligence Applications (OBIA) for Financials, *Procurement & Spend, and Projects in an E-Business Suite (EBS) release 12 environment using Oracle Data Integrator (ODI).
*Knowledge of OFF R12 data structures and OBIA data warehouse metadata; maintenance of the OBIA data warehouse and enhancements to data structures.
*Knowledge of standard OBIA applications including Budget Summary/Detail, Analytics, Budget Spending Analytics, Budget Detail Analytics, Payables, Analytics Purchasing and General Ledger.
*Capabilities in designing/developing Oracle APEX applications and reports including forms UI design experience. Experience working with APEX Administration is a plus.
*Experience with version control tools such as SVN.
*DBA experience with creating accounts and security.
*Tuning experience such as troubleshooting long running reports/queries, running explain plans and optimizing queries.
*Capabilities in creating/modifying BI Publisher reports. Qualifications:
*Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or similar major (i.e., Database Management).
*5+ years of experience working in a Business Intelligence/Data Warehousing environment.
*5+ years designing and developing standard and BI reports, dashboards, and ability to write proficient SQL queries.
*Experience gathering/extrapolating end-user requirements and translating them into simplified design criteria to form the basis for developing a reporting solution.
*Strong data integration and data analysis skills.
*Experience developing unit test plans, performing unit tests, and documenting the results.
*Excellent problem-solving skills.
*Strong analytical and evaluation skills
