PurposeA successful CFO at Pratum will be a vital member of a dynamic lead/executive team. They will lead the accounting/financial operations of the Pratum family of companies, which includes 4 distinct business units producing $300 million in annual sales with close to 200 employees. They will also have a key role in supporting the continued growth of Pratum ensuring that Pratum is always on mission; dedicated to innovative solutions, excellent service, and long-term relationships. The following are general tasks and responsibilities related to this position, but the position may require other duties and special projects as assigned by management. Tasks & ResponsibilitiesWork with the Controller to oversee and manage the accounting staff employment lifecycles including hiring, training, management, feedback, reviews, and terminations.Support business expansion by working closely with the President to identify, analyze, and execute M&A opportunities; new product areas; etc.Work individually with each of the division managers to develop and grow their business units.Oversee investment of funds and work with investment bankers to raise additional capital needed for expansion.Monitor and manage operating line(s) of credit. Ensure accurate and timely production of financial statements for internal and external stakeholders and auditors.Present monthly financial performance reports to the board of directors, including budget variances and adjustments required.Oversee and assist, if needed, with monthly financial closes.Ensure timely submission of and filing of various tax returns including income taxes, fuel taxes, various state taxes, and Oregon Corporate Activities Tax.Analyze database of fuel contracts and corresponding futures positions to ensure proper hedges.Work with IT team to correctly solve issues in various systems related to accounting and to design new processes as needed (e.g. ERP).Calculate member patronage at year end direct annual patronage disbursementsAssist President and/or Lead Team on budget planning process priorities and any other special projects, suggesting improvements to current methods.Study long-range economic trends to anticipate impacts on operations. ExpectationsComply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations, maintaining familiarity with the employee handbookFunction in a way that fulfills Pratum’s ValuesIntegrity: always doing the right thingSafety: committed to a safe environment for our employees and customersProfessionalism: dealing with all relationships in a courteous and respectful manner with a positive image, timelinessResults Oriented: delivering on your promisesTeamwork: respecting one another with humility, working with the ag management teamStewardship: careful and responsible management of our resources and environmentCustomer Service: exceeding expectations of those we serveMotivated to contribute to Pratum’s success and the fulfillment of our mission, vision and valuesSelf-starter with drive to complete projects on time with excellent attention to detailGood math and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilitiesPositive attitude that contributes to a winning culture along with effective staff team building Qualifications and Education RequirementsBSc in accounting or related field (minimum requirement)Experience overseeing an accounting teamExperience in a multi-state, multi company organization is a plus.Experience in an agriculture-based company is a plus Preferred SkillsProficiency with accounting and ERP systems, MS Office products: Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
