Description: Assist the Special Security Officer (SSO) to ensure control of access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and SCI Facilities (SCIFs); certifying and receiving SCI visitor clearances / accesses; conducts SCI security briefings, indoctrinations, debriefings, training on classified material / SSO-related material and topics; obtains signed nondisclosure agreements; and provides guidance and assistance for processing SCI position and eligibility requests for assigned military, Government and contractor personnel.
Serves as a Controlled Access Program (CAP) security specialist for lifecycle program protection management for USSPACECOM and implements protocols to actively reduce the chances for espionage, terrorism, and threats of unauthorized disclosure or compromise of information or material considered vital to command mission interests, national defense, or national security.
Develops, implements, and integrates CAP program protection requirements supporting USSPACECOM essential program information, operations, technologies, and systems. As the CAP / Special Access Program (SAP) / Special Access Required (SAR) subject matter expert, provides detailed knowledge of DoD, IC, services, and mission partners' CAP / SAP / SAR policies, plans, and procedures.
Recommends and executes cradle to grave security and program protection as it relates to USSPACECOM operations and equities.
Trains and manages the daily development of associated personnel on individual CAP / SAP program protection requirements and processes as directed.
Provides all CAP / SAP / SAR security operations, analysis decisions, and recommendations in appropriate formats to meet DoD and USSPACECOM requirements.
Other duties may include but are not limited to: audits of classified material, inspections of classified material storage facilities / SCIFs / containers, and researching and preparing classified material-related policy and management recommendations, reports, and recommendations.
Desired Experience: 3+ years of experience relevant to the specific labor category with at least four years of the experience within the last 2 years.
Desired Education: Bachelor’s degree in an area related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
An additional 4 years of experience in the specific labor category, for a total of 12 years of experience in the specific labor category, may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
Location: USSPACECOM Headquarters, Schriever Air Force Base (AFB), Colorado Springs, CO.
Security Clearance: Security clearance required TS/SCI with a CI POLY.
