Job Summary

The Nurse Informaticist plays a critical role in bridging clinical practice and information technology, contributing to enhanced patient safety and outcomes. They evaluate workflows, provide training, and support system adoption efforts, working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams and operations.

Accountabilities

*Clinical Informatics Expertise & Workflow Evaluation: Become the clinical informatics expert for assigned clinical areas, gaining in-depth knowledge of workflows and documentation requirements to effectively support system optimization and user training. Ensure alignment with best practices and regulatory standards while supporting system optimization and user training.

*Collaborative System Enhancement: Actively participate as the Clinical Informatics representative in meetings and projects to optimize existing clinical systems and implement new ones, improving system usability and patient outcomes.

*Training and Support: Provide training and support to clinical staff on healthcare information technology, facilitating system adoption and proficiency.

Data Analysis & Quality Improvement: Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement, contributing to evidence-based decision-making and quality improvement initiatives.

*Standards Adherence & Professional Development: Uphold organizational standards and seek opportunities for professional growth in nursing informatics and project management, enhancing personal and team effectiveness.

*Communication & Collaboration: Effectively communicate with stakeholders, gather requirements, and address concerns related to clinical informatics initiatives while collaborating with IT teams to troubleshoot system issues and ensure data integrity and security.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree - Nursing

3 years - Nursing practice, quality improvement, clinical informatics or healthcare operations.

Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses

Licensed to practice as an RN in South Carolina.
