Essential Duties and Tasks

  • Knows and follows all safety policies and procedures. Ensures that co-workers are also following safety rules.
  • Commitment, awareness and involvement pertaining to ISO (policy, standards, procedures, etc.) and food safety practices (GMPs, procedures, etc.) are requirements of all employees.
  • Maintains employee and business confidentiality; protects privacy of internal customers as required by federal and state regulations.
  • Maintains knowledge of and learns legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting is in compliance with said rules and regulations. Assists with updating policies and practices as needed with regulation changes.
  • Responsible for leading the talent acquisition process for select positions such as job posting; sorting applicants; interviewing; job offer; and new hire orientation.
  • Responsible for the administrative duties in regard to company benefit programs as follows:
    • Shares new employee benefit orientation including initial enrollment of new employees
    • Submits benefit changes for entry.
    • Handles all aspects of open enrollment (assists with conducting open enrollment meetings, ensure annual notices are communicated as directed, responsible for getting all employees enrolled).
    • Coordinates and communicates all information nurses conducting onsite biometrics screenings, contact person for vendors as needed.
  • Conducts new employee onboarding orientation in conjunction with our Westfield facility to acclimate and welcome new employees into the organization and provide them with the tools, resources, and knowledge to become successful and productive employees of ProAmpac. This includes but is not limited to:
    • Collecting all onboarding documentation; distributes and/or files as appropriate.
    • Reviews company handbook policies and collects acknowledgement form.
  • Assists with accurate and compliant I-9 completion including annual purge process and periodic auditing, updating when applicable. Stays current with rules and regulations pertaining to the I-9 process.
  • Assists with leaves of absence (disability, FMLA) requests and return to work issues with employees, managers, and third-party administrators. Assists employees with issues encountered with third party administrator.
  • Responds to unemployment claims.
  • Updates departmental SOP’s when changes take place. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Participates in audits by customers as needed to provide HR support. Prepares requested documentation and facilitates employee interviews as needed to fill hourly vacancies.
  • Attends staff meetings and other meetings and seminars. Completes ISO, BRC, SQF, or other quality initiatives, as well as safety as needed.
  • Demonstrates appropriate attitude in all dealings with coworkers, customers, and suppliers.
  • Consistently provide support even on off hours as needed to support a 24/7 operation.
  • Continually looks for new ways to streamline processes as it pertains to continuous improvement.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA); or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination education and experience.
  • Prior manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), Visio, and Outlook email and calendar capabilities.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality and protects privacy of confidential/sensitive information.
  • Exceptional time management and organization skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously establishing priorities to meet deadlines.

Salary Range:

$52,200 - $70,000/Annually

Work Environment

Work primarily in a climate controlled indoor environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Hearing protection, safety shoes and vision protection required. 

 

This role operates in a professional office environment that requires some exposure to a manufacturing environment. Employee is rarely exposed to non-toxic/nuisance smells from chemicals, airborne dust, moving mechanical parts, high noise levels and hot/humid environmental conditions in the manufacturing area during extremely hot summer months.
