Please note that this position is onsite and therefore requires the ability to commute to the Joe Arrington Cancer Research and Treatment Center (JACC) in Lubbock, TX.

Plans, supervises, and evaluates the delivery of nursing care, the performance of assigned staff, and unit management for designated clinical area(s). Works closely with the Director of Nursing to ensure continuity of care across the continuum. Minimal supervision required. Oversees the daily activities of the Medical Oncology and Physician Offices Staff departments to facilitate a smooth workflow and effective communications among staff members. Documents employee corrective action as necessary according to the Covenant Corrective Action Policy. Oversees all nursing activities in the Joe Arrington Cancer Center, collaborating with other department managers who have nurses in their department. Facilitates communication from administration throughout the departments. Keeps staff informed of activities, events and changes related to their employment. Acts as a liaison between staff and administration as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Meet the criteria to sit for the NCLEX examination and become licensed in the State of Texas
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related field
  • Maintains radiation safety training annually and conscious sedation education annually
  • Texas Registered Nurse License upon hire
  • National Provider BLS – American Heart Association upon hire
  • 3 years of professional nursing experience
  • 2 years of clinical experience in a specific clinical area

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Nursing leadership coursework and/or leadership certification
  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field
  • Specialty certification related to practice
  • Provider Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – American Heart Association
  • National Oncology Certification (OCN); maintains chemotherapy hospital-based certification every 2 years (for JACC Medical Oncology and Physicians Offices)
  • Supervisory or leadership experience

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors.
