Director of Perinatal Nursing Services: Starting Salary Range: $92,414 - $103,293

Job Summary:

Responsible for ensuring perinatal nursing and case management services are provided to the obstetric patients of Pueblo Community Health Center, Inc, developing and maintaining the perinatal education program for Pueblo Community Health Center, Inc.

Reports to:

Senior Medical Director

Supervision Exercised:

Perinatal Nurse Manager, Perinatal Admin Assistant, and MAII Case-Manager- Colposcopy

Education/Experience/License/Certification:

RN with at least 5 years ambulatory health care management experience
Perinatal nursing experience
Additional training in health education and case management desirable
Current B.L.S. with skills demonstration C.P.R. certification required
Valid driver’s license and auto insurance as required by law

Required Travel:

Frequent travel is required including day-to-day local travel for patient care, business meetings, community events, etc, some of which may occur during evenings and weekends.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Ensure the function and activities of this department to embrace the philosophy, mission, values, and Communicate with Heart service model supported by the Board of Directors of Pueblo Community Health Center, Inc.

2. Adhere to the guidelines and procedures of Pueblo Community Health Center, Inc.

3. Ensure quality nursing care is provided to patients in the Perinatal Department of PCHC

4. Ensure case management and perinatal education services are provided to obstetric patients of PCHC efficiently and within applicable protocols, guidelines, and regulations.

5. Provide supervision and oversight to Perinatal Nurse Manager and staff: to include training, department meetings, staffing plan, evaluations, and recommendations for hiring and termination.

6. Participate in QI activities.

7. Perform required planning and evaluation to effectively implement and monitor effectiveness of Perinatal Nursing Services.

8. Prepare budget for Perinatal Department.

9. Prepare billing paperwork for contracted OB/GYN providers.

10. Maintain proficiency in EHR and assist in training staff in EHR, assist in updating NextGen programs as needed.

11. Attend meetings to represent the Perinatal Nursing Department.

12. Work with Director of Nursing- Clinical and Director of Quality as needed for QI and process improvement activities

13. The employee may be required to provide services to an individual who is not a patient of the health center when called upon in an emergency situation or temporarily treat or assist in treating the non-health center patient.

14. The employee may be required to provide supervision of students providing care at the health center’s facilities.

15. Other duties as assigned.
