Position Overview The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) is a naval research activity operating under the direction of the Commander, Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) which provides research, development, test and evaluation, engineering analysis and assessment, as well as Fleet support capabilities for submarines, autonomous underwater vehicles/systems, and offensive and defensive undersea weapon systems, and stewards existing and emerging technologies in support of undersea warfare. The NUWCDIVNPT Electromagnetic Systems Department (Code 34) is tasked to perform a wide range of engineering and program management functions in support of the design of programs and products that provide tactical and strategic combat systems and special mission sensors for U. S. Navy platforms including SSN, SSGN, SSBN, SEAWOLF and Columbia Class submarines, surface ships, aircraft and land based facilities. We are looking for great people to join the QinetiQ Team in support of acquisition program management, in-service management, financial/budgetary planning and execution, and internal information technology and information assurance processes and procedures to carry out this mission. Responsibilities * Collect, review, and analyze information in order to make recommendations to the Government. * Define the nature and extent of problems. Analyze relevant data, which may include annual revenues, employment, cost performance, schedule or expenditures. * provide services in support of the development and refinement of Code 34 Departmental business processes, specifically in the area of financial practices for all projects. This includes the support of and participation in LEAN events and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and other events involving Code 34 business processes and improvements. * Interview managers and employees while observing their operations. * Develop solutions to problems. In the course of preparing recommendations, understand the nature of the organization, the relationship it has with others in the Government, and its internal organization and culture. * Prepare and solve mathematical models. Report findings and recommendations to the Government. Reports are usually submitted in writing, but oral presentations regarding findings also are common.
