Job Type: Regular The RAND Corporation seeks an Accountant to perform General Ledger accounting duties to support the financial transactions at RAND. The successful candidate will process and record the financial transactions related to Cash Management, Revenue recognition, and Fixed Assets. Additional tasks may range from recording journal entries, performing bank/general ledger account reconciliations, conducting fluctuation analysis; assist in the preparation of management reporting, quarterly/annual financial statements, roll forwards; compile supporting documentation and/or prepare supporting schedules for audit requests, as well as various other ad hoc projects as requested by management. Qualifications * Experience and understanding of accounting transactions required
* Ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently
* Excellent communication, writing, and analytical skills
* Ability to organize workflow in an efficient manner
* Aptitude to perform detailed work with a high degree of accuracy
* Research, compile, and analyze data for projects/reports as needed
* Experience in non-profit accounting strongly a plus
* Proficient using MS Office suite required
* Strong Excel skills with experience with large data sets required
* Experience with the Workday ERP, a plus Education Requirement * Minimum BS/BA in Finance, Business or Accounting
* CPA / or working towards CPA a plus Experience * Minimum of 1 year related to Business or Accounting experience.
* 3 years' experience is preferred. Location * Santa Monica - hybrid work arrangement
* This position does not allow for 100% remote status. Salary Range 62,700 to 91,500 RAND considers a variety of factors when formulating an offer, including but not limited to, the specific role and associated responsibilities; a candidate's work experience, education/training, skills, expertise; and internal equity.The salary range includes base pay plus RAND's sabbatic pay (which provides additional compensation above base pay when vacation is taken). In addition, RAND provides strong benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, paid time-off and more.
