The Effector Digital Products Department is seeking an electrical engineering leader with experience in engineering management, design, test, and integration. The Section Leader will utilize advanced technical knowledge in FPGA/ASIC Design/Verification and/or Digital CCA Design, and understand the impact of this work on other areas of the organization.

The candidate will work with section members to provide career guidance, performance feedback, and technical leadership to enable employees for success. Responsibilities will be split between supporting program(s) as an engineer ( 90%) and providing functional leadership to the section ( 10%).

What You Will Do

Section Leader Responsibilities:

Manage a section of 15 to 20 engineers

Provide career and technical mentoring

Lead functional and cross-disciplinary teams to meet organizational goals and project needs

Support hiring (resume reviews, interviews, etc.)

Elicit and compile performance feedback to support Performance Development

Hold required formal Mid-Year and Year-End Performance Development (PD) discussions where compiled feedback, key strengths and development needs are conveyed

Engineering Responsibilities:

The engineering responsibilities for this position support Digital CCA and/or FPGA/ASIC technologies within the Effector Digital Products Department (responsibilities align to your field of expertise).

Design and deliver production quality FPGA releases from initial proof of concept up to production

Architect FPGA-based systems to determine parts, interfaces, and Concept of Operations (CONOPS)

Translate system level requirements into FPGA requirements

Design and code in VHDL for reliability and maintainability

Verify designs utilizing self-checking techniques with directed and constrained random tests, while tracking functional and code coverage

Demonstrate technical expertise in digital signal processing, FPGA/ASIC design/verification, CCA design, integration and test of radar hardware, and/or system architecture

Lead functional and/or cross-disciplinary teams to meet organizational goals and project needs

Design, analysis, simulation, test, and integration of digital electronic modules and/or CCAs for Missile applications

Circuit card design including hardware designs with processors, FPGAs, memory, and industry interfaces, such as PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, and UART

Qualifications You Must Have

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering

Minimum of eight (8) years of professional experience to include at least two (2) of the following:

FPGA or ASIC design

FPGA or ASIC verification

Integration and test of radar hardware or system architecture

Digital CCA design

Digital signal processing

The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizen are eligible for a security clearance.

An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for 2 additional years of experience.

Qualifications We Prefer
  • Master of Science (MS) in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience serving as a Responsible Engineering Authority (REA), Control Account Manager (CAM), and/or Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL)
  • Failure investigation, root cause identification, and corrective action implementation
  • Development of technical proposals, engineering project estimates, and/or white papers
  • Requirements verification test planning and execution
  • Experience creating and presenting professional level design documentation to company leadership and program customers

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
