A well-established healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Vascular Ultrasound Technologist II to join its non-invasive vascular laboratory. This is a full-time, day-shift opportunity for a skilled sonographer who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and working in a collaborative clinical environment.
Position Overview
The Vascular Ultrasound Technologist II is responsible for the daily operations of the Vascular Laboratory, performing a wide range of non-invasive vascular ultrasound examinations and providing preliminary interpretations. This role works closely with leadership and fellow technologists to ensure efficient workflow, regulatory compliance, and exceptional patient experience.
Key Responsibilities

Perform non-invasive vascular ultrasound examinations, including but not limited to:

Upper and lower extremity arterial and venous duplex
-
Carotid duplex
-
Renal duplex
-
AV fistula studies
-
Aorta imaging
-
PVR and ABI exams
-
Provide preliminary interpretations and prepare reports for interpreting physicians

Review physician orders and patient medical records to obtain relevant clinical history

Ensure accurate documentation, billing, and maintenance of patient logs and statistics

Maintain ultrasound equipment and report malfunctions as needed

Uphold patient safety, comfort, confidentiality, and HIPAA compliance at all times

Recognize and respond appropriately to emergent situations

Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and IAC accreditation processes

Assist with education and instruction of medical students, residents, and fellows

Order and maintain supplies for the vascular lab

Perform additional duties as assigned
Must-Have Qualifications
-
Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
-
Minimum of 1 year of experience performing a broad range of vascular ultrasound exams

Ability and commitment to obtain Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification within 6 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications

RDMS certification
-
Prior hospital-based vascular lab experience
Required Knowledge & Skills

Strong understanding of vascular anatomy, hemodynamics, and pathophysiology

Proficiency in ultrasound physics, instrumentation, and Doppler imaging
-
Ability to integrate ultrasound findings with other diagnostic studies (CT, angiography, labs)

Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and independent decision-making skills

Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal abilities

High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and customer service
Licensure & Certifications

Registry-eligible upon hire
-
RVT required within 6 months of employment

Active ARDMS credentials must be maintained

BLS certification required
