Position Summary
The Lead Recruiter supports substitute teacher and educational staffing operations by recruiting, screening, and onboarding educators and school support professionals across assigned markets. This role also helps support recruiting team development, workforce planning initiatives, and recruiting operations as staffing activity continues to grow.
The Lead Recruiter partners closely with staffing coordinators, operations teams, leadership, and school partners to support daily, long-term, and hard-to-fill staffing needs. The ideal candidate is organized, relationship-driven, responsive, and comfortable leading within a fast-paced staffing environment with time-sensitive priorities.

Responsibilities
Schedule / Shift
- Shift details: Full-time; standard business hours with flexibility during peak hiring periods
- Hours per week: 40
- Contract length: Direct Hire / Internal Position
- Recruit substitute teachers, paraprofessionals, teacher assistants, and school support staff through sourcing platforms, job boards, referrals, and outreach efforts
- Conduct candidate phone screens, interviews, and qualification reviews
- Build and maintain active educator pipelines to support daily and long-term staffing needs
- Partner closely with staffing coordinators and operations teams to support fill rate goals and workforce coverage
- Support onboarding activities, compliance documentation, and candidate communication throughout the hiring process
- Help support recruiting team growth, training, workflow consistency, and recruiting best practices
- Assist leadership with recruiting strategy, workforce planning, reporting, and hiring initiatives
- Support recruiter coaching, collaboration, and day-to-day recruiting operations as staffing activity scales
- Maintain accurate candidate records within ATS, CRM, and workforce management systems
- Support workforce retention, redeployment, and candidate engagement initiatives
- Assist with urgent same-day and next-day staffing needs, as required
Education
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree
- Prior recruiting, staffing, or education experience is preferred
- Strong phone skills (all our business is completed by telephone or virtual platforms)
- Robust organizational skills and ability to multi-task effectively
- Experience meeting and/or exceeding KPI metrics in a performance-driven environment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced staffing environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong Internet, proficiency with ATS, CRM, Microsoft Office, and recruiting platforms
