The Talon Tribe is hiring a Head Racquets Professional!

The Head Racquets Professional oversees all racquet sports activities, including tennis and pickleball. This role involves coaching, program development, Member engagement, and event management. This role requires a deep knowledge of both tennis and pickleball, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to create a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere for all Club Members.

Responsibilities:


Instruction & Coaching:

  • Provide private and group lessons for players of all ages and skill levels in both tennis and pickleball.
  • Develop and implement instructional programs, clinics, and camps to promote player development.
  • Stay current with the latest techniques and trends in both sports to offer high-quality coaching.

Program Development:

  • In collaboration with the Racquets Director, design and execute a comprehensive calendar of racquets programs, including tournaments, social events, and instructional sessions.
  • Foster participation in racquets activities, ensuring a balanced mix of competitive and social opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other departments to create cross-functional programs that enhance member experience.

Member Engagement:

  • Build strong relationships with Members, understanding their needs and preferences to tailor racquets programs accordingly.
  • Provide excellent customer service, ensuring a positive and inclusive environment for all participants.
  • Work closely with the Racquets Director and Membership & Communications Director to promote racquets programs through various channels, including the club website, social media, email newsletters, and print materials.

Facility & Equipment Management:

  • Oversee the maintenance and organization of all racquet sports facilities and equipment.
  • Ensure courts are in optimal condition and address any maintenance needs promptly.

Staff Management:

  • In coordination with the Racquets Director, recruit, train, and supervise a team of qualified Racquets Professionals and support staff.
  • Provide ongoing feedback, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to enhance staff performance and ensure adherence to club standards.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a bachelor's degree in sports management, recreation, or a related field (preferred).
  • Be a certified tennis or pickleball instructor/coach (USPTA, PTR, or equivalent certification).
  • Have at least 3 years of experience in a similar role, within a country club or recreational facility setting.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with members, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Have a demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Be passionate about racquet sports and committed to promoting participation, sportsmanship, and healthy competition among club members.
