Special Education Teacher - Cambridge Public Schools

This role involves working closely with students, families, and educational professionals to develop and implement personalized learning plans that foster academic growth and social development.

Overview:

• In-person 
• Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts
• Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8am-3pm
  • Start and end times will vary depending on the school’s bell schedule
• Compensation: $45-60/hr
• Start date: Flexible

Responsibilities:

• Assess students’ skills to determine their needs and to develop teaching plans
• Adapt lessons to meet the needs of students
• Help develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student
• Update IEPs throughout the school year to reflect students’ progress and goals
• Plan, organize, and assign activities specific student abilities
• Teach and mentor students as a class, in small groups, and one-on-one
• Assess students’ performance and progress periodically
• Discuss student’s progress with parents, general education teachers, counselors, and administrators
• Prepare and help students transition from grade to grade
• Comply will all company policies and applicable laws
• Handles all other duties as assigned

Requirements: 

• Bachelor's degree
• Massachusetts Teaching License
• Hold either ESL License at the appropriate level or SEI Endorsement
