The ideal candidate will act as an employee champion and a leader of change. You will plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization's human resource function and performance.ResponsibilitiesProvide overall leadership and guidance by overseeing talent acquisition, employee career development, succession planning, retention programs, training and leadership developmentFunction as a strategic, human capital business advisor to the senior management teamDevelop initiatives, policies and programs to complement existing practices and create consistency across the organizationOversee benefit and compensation plans to ensure cost efficiencies and attractiveness to retain top talentStrategically rethink the system of regular staff performance evaluations, from organizational competencies to feedback, and day to day manager/supervisee utilization, guiding the incorporation of the process into HRIS system, and provide guidance to managers to enhance the effectiveness of the evaluation processCollaborate with CFO and COO on compensation and benefits philosophy, including annual benefits selection and open enrollment process, and serve as back up to People Department Senior Manager on bi-weekly payroll run as neededOwn HR department budget, manage contracts, as well as direct responsibility for invoice and reimbursement oversight and approvalsServe as a senior point of contact for collective bargaining unit, including direct involvement in any formal grievance processes according to the terms of the collective bargaining agreementProvide advice to management on labor laws, policies, and best practices to ensure compliance and fairnessServe as the company's spokesperson in meetings with union representatives to review and respond to cases involving claims, grievances, and discipline appealsCultivate a strong partnership with the union at all levelsResponsible for ensuring compliance with any collective bargaining agreements in effectRequirements10+ years of HR experience with 1 year as a manager or aboveComprehensive knowledge and experience in labor relations, collective bargaining, HR Compliance and HR Policy formulationDemonstrable experience in Benefits Administration and Compensation & BenefitsAbility to develop and implement HR Strategy aligned with organizational goalsStrong skills in Performance Management and employee evaluationExperience operating within a collective bargaining agreement environmentJob typePerm
