Headquartered in Seattle, Washington, MCG is a pioneering healthcare technology and analytics company providing evidence-based care guidance and solutions to payers, providers, third party administrators, and more. With a mission to lead the healthcare community to deliver patient-focused care and a vision of ensuring everyone gets the right care, MCG Health is at the forefront of best-in-class healthcare innovation. ABOUT MCG HEALTH:MCG Health originated from a collaboration between actuarial science and clinical evidence. In 1988, actuaries from Milliman, a global actuarial and consulting firm, teamed up with physicians to create the first evidence-based care guidelines. Actuaries, skilled in risk versus benefit calculations, were among the pioneers of data science. Meanwhile, Milliman’s physicians relied on empirical data and published research to guide patient care decisions. This fusion of quantitative analysis and clinical expertise led to the development of unbiased clinical decision support tools by MCG, which are now widely licensed by U.S. health plans, over 3,100 hospitals, and various government agencies.Initially named the M&R Guidelines and later rebranded as the Healthcare Management Guidelines and Milliman Care Guidelines, these guidelines were authored by Dr. Richard L. Doyle and initially published in a three-ring notebook. They offered clinical recommendations tailored for health plans and insurers to optimize care delivery across different healthcare scenarios.Subsequently, hospitals, third-party administrators (TPAs), and other healthcare entities embraced these guidelines, recognizing their robust evidence base and adopting them to improve care decisions. MCG responded by developing software solutions like Cite, Indicia, and Informed by MCG, enabling clients to seamlessly integrate the guidelines into their case management, utilization management, and electronic health record (EHR) systems.By 2010, over 1,000 hospitals, seven of the eight largest U.S. health plans, and 25 CMS audit contractors had embraced MCG care guidelines and technology solutions, leveraging them to enhance patient care effectiveness. With a trusted brand and significant growth in both vision and revenue over the past decade, MCG Health now seeks an innovative, strategic CMO to lead MCG through the business’s next chapter of growth and evolution with dedication to addressing specific challenges within hospitals and health systems, health plans, payers, and third party administrators at the forefront of MCG Health’s work.POSITION OVERVIEW:Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Medical Officer leads the direction, development, and production of the company’s clinical solutions inclusive of evidence-based content, informatics, and clinical analytics.
