The Corporate Controller will report to the Finance Director. The Corporate Controller has responsibility for the preparation, accuracy, and review of Scoular’s consolidated financial statements and overseeing the accounting and business partnering for the corporate division. In the role, you will be able to leverage a newly implemented Workday Financials financial management system to drive consistency, efficiency, and effectiveness as a finance business partner. This individual will also serve as a key role in the phase two of our Workday Financials implementation bringing international operations onto Workday financials. You will be a leader in analyzing and communicating financial results actively business partnering with senior management, key business partners across Scoular, and our global finance teams. Additional key responsibilities include overseeing Scoular’s annual audit, researching GAAP technical accounting, overseeing the accounting and evaluation of capital projects, and ensuring that the proper internal control environment for financial reporting is in place. In the role, you will be accountable for managing, training, and developing team members in the corporate accounting department. Oversee the financial reporting process including the consolidation and elimination process, managing the monthly close schedule, prepare and oversee the preparation of the consolidated financial statements, own the general ledger master data process, and ensure adherence to Scoular’s financial close policy.Manage and be a team leader ensuring proactive development and performance of the corporate accounting department.Oversee the accounting for capital projects and the corresponding fixed asset/long-lived asset accounting.Coordinate the accounting for Scoular’s international operations and serve as a key advisor in phase two of implementing Scoular’s international operations onto Workday financials.Oversee the annual audit and preparation of the annual report.Provide technical accounting research for critical accounting issues related to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) for acquisitions, divestitures, greenfield projects, and joint ventures.Ensure that internal controls are adhered to and provide recommendations on process enhancements necessary to safeguard Scoular’s assets.
