Team Submarine's Submarine Program Offices are responsible for: The acquisition of the OHIO Class replacement and for identifying, assembling, managing, directing, and coordinating the resources required for the R&D, design, construction, Test and Evaluation (T&E) and Live Fire Test and Evaluation (LFT&E) of the COLUMBIA Class. The COLUMBIA program is a major defense acquisition program with a total life cycle cost of approximately $336B and is of significant political importance with Congress and the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD). Team Submarine and the Ship Acquisition Program Management (SHAPM) directorate within Serco-North America (NA) work together for the acquisition of New Construction Submarines and for identifying, assembling, managing, directing, and coordinating the resources required for the R&D, design, construction, Test and Evaluation (T&E), Live Fire Test and Evaluation (LFT&E), and Fleet introduction of the U.S. Navy's newest class of nuclear attack submarines. Serco-NA is seeking motivated finance, accounting, or business-related undergraduate students to provide a variety of fiscal, accounting, or financial management support to one of the U.S. Navy submarine shipbuilding program offices in the Washington, DC area. In this role, you will: * Apply and interpret regulations, directives, instructions, policies, and procedures, to include procurement, travel requests, moves, awards, and managing records in accordance with policies. * Implement legal and regulatory controls over approved budgets. * Analyze and recommend cost and benefits of alternative methods of financial management of organization's programs and administrative operations. * Provide advice on effective and efficient methods for the acquisition and use of funds to support the organization's programs and activities. * Perform a variety of fiscal, accounting, or financial management duties. * Perform or advise on work in any of the phases or systems of budget administration. * You will interface with a broad range of experts and stakeholders - firsthand regular senior level engagement and visit opportunities such as shipyards, foundries, submarine ship tours and etc. * Other duties as assigned. Qualifications To be sucessful in this role, you will have: * The ability to obtain a Secret clearance is required. * At least one year in an accredited university's finance, accounting or business related major. * Sophomores, Juniors and First Semester Seniors apply. * An interest in the business and financial aspects of shipbuilding * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * The ability to use a variety of software products (e.g. MS Office). * Periodic travel (
