Operate the Security Dispatch Center. Priority will be given to emergency and critical communication. Maintain dispatch area, issue equipment and secure and retain documentation.
Responsibilities:
Ensure the safety of both guests and employees is the highest priority.
Operate the Security base park radio. Priority will be given to emergency and critical communication.
Operate the Genesee County radio system. This is to include (as much as possible), monitoring the county and state bands for relevant emergency situations, keeping the Shift Supervisor updated on relevant situations.
Operate the Security/Medical central base phone. Priority will be given to emergency and priority situations. Clearing emergency lines as soon as possible (5555, 5222). Record relevant calls as required.
Operate and monitor various office equipment, including printers, fax machines, and computers.
Responsible for the maintenance of the radio log. This will include:
Dispatching all incidents, including arrival and departure times.
Entry of incident card numbers in the log.
Arrival and departure of medical on all calls.
Arrival and departure of EMS, police, fire, and other outside services.
Start and completion of all money collections.
- Lost persons.
- Site warnings and problems.
- Completion and filing of dispatch log sheets.
- Issue dispatch cards for each incident as required.
- Must be able to log incidents in computer-based dispatch and reporting software.
- Maintain daily logs including attendance log, key log, personnel, magazine, and sign-in logs.
Maintain emergency procedure manual.
- Issue and sign out Security radios (with the Area Supervisors and Shift Supervisor).
- Maintain incident computer files.
- Scan files into database as required.
- Serve as direct customer service contact.
- Serve as interface to outside agencies.
- Maintain dispatch area in a neat and orderly manner.
- Restrict access to dispatch to all unauthorized persons including patrons, non-security employees, off duty employees, security officers not assigned in dispatch, and visitors.
- Must be available to work shifts as agreed when hired.
Management reserves the right to add or remove duties when circumstances dictate.
Qualifications:
- Has obtained as a minimum a high school diploma or GED.
- Valid state Driver's License and successful completion of Darien Lake Vehicle Training program.
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of written and oral instructions.
- Strong communication skills, to include:
Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays and a six-day workweek, as required.
Ability to function effectively through an entire shift or assignment.
Ability to read, write and speak English in a clear effective manner, using proper pronunciation, diction, and grammar. Attention to detail.
Proven experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), web-based and data-management applications.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
