Overview:

As a member of the Public Safety Department, you are part of the Guest First concept. You need to understand the expectations of the Guests who visit our Park. They expect you to be friendly, visible, knowledgeable, and service oriented.  As a Guest Entry Officer you will be working fixed posts designed to monitor guest entry/exit, validate guest parking, and monitor the guest parking lots.


Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Consistent attendance and adherence to the posted schedule is a job requirement.
  • Attend required Human Resources training, Security department training, and Security in-service training.
  • Maintain Park / Security Departments grooming and appearance standards in accordance with policies.
  • Work with a diverse team and cooperate with all team members and Park management.
  • Communicate effectively with guests, team members and Park management – in person, by phone, and by portable radio.
  • Conduct all interactions with a professional, proactive, and friendly attitude.
  • Address and resolve guest violations of Park policy according to department policy.
  • Work fixed positions designed to monitor guest and team member entry/exit.
  • Work fixed positions designed to monitor the guest parking lots.
  • Complete departmental reports and/or required paperwork according to department policy.
  • Complete all required Six Flags Public Safety - Security certification tests.
  • Work fixed positions designed to validate entry to guest parking lot.
    • Operate hand-held electronic device to scan passes for parking.
    • Operate touch-screen point of sale (POS) system for credit/debit card transactions.
    • Monitor and control access to preferred/membership parking area.
  • Assist with cleaning as needed or directed.
  • Complete Six Flags Security certification tests.
  • Maintain all job duties and responsibilities in outdoor weather conditions – regularly exposed to direct sunlight, wet/humid conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat for extended periods of time.
  • Maintain all job duties and responsibilities independently with minimal direct supervision.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk up to 8 hours at a time and as many as 12 hours a day.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Outgoing and friendly personality.
  • Must be able to speak, understand, read, and write in English language.
  • Must be comfortable using and communicating via phone and portable radio
  • Must be able to listen/monitor radio communication by earpiece.
  • Must be comfortable using a computer.
  • Must be able to work around a metal detector.
  • Must be willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Must be professional, self-motivated, the ability to multi-task and have an enthusiastic attitude
  • Must have strong teamwork skills and the ability to work with others
